Obituary

Fort Kent--- Maurice (Joseph) Boucher, 66, of Fort Kent, Maine passed on February 10, 2022 after a long struggle with heart and health issues. He was born March 12, 1955 in Fort Kent, the son of Ludger Sr. and Emilia (LaFerriere) Boucher. He was the beloved husband of Mona Lisa (Bosse) Boucher of 43 years.

Maurice had worked as paving foreman and a hand cutter in the woods, enjoyed taking classes at UMFK, and was a skilled woodworker.

Maurice was an active third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus council in Fort Kent.

Despite his small size and later health issues, Maurice would always challenge anyone to arm wrestle. He loved to debate, to tell stories, and to make people laugh. He cherished his grandchildren, his children and his wife.

Maurice is survived by his wife Mona Lisa Boucher, son Maurice  jr. and his wife Merlinda Boucher of Plymouth CT, daughter Nicole Doustou of Eagle Lake, and four wonderful grandchildren Grace, Griffin, Weston and Emelia.

Maurice was the youngest of 14 siblings, with brothers Eddie, Emile, Leon, Leonard, Louis, Roger, Donald, Wallace, Dalton, Robert and Wilmer and sisters Anita Stella and Rita Hebert, and is survived by Leon, Donald, Wallace, Robert, Anita and Rita.

Maurice's last moments were spent happily watching his grandsons play basketball. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on March 12th, 2022 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent at 10am, and a celebration of his life will follow at the Knights of Columbus hall in Fort Kent, Maine. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home
