Fort Kent—Maurice Lincoln Paradis, 87, was reunited with the love of his life, Edwina (Pelletier) Paradis, on December 2, 2021, when he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born in Fort Kent, Maine, on February 12, 1934, the son of Louis J. and Flora (Austin) Paradis. He was also predeceased by his infant son, Gregory Paradis, and his beautiful daughter, Paula (Paradis) Stanley. Maurice met his love, Edwina, on the dance floor at the Camille Daigle Dance Hall. Together they enjoyed 22 years of marriage. Maurice is survived by his children, Linda (Paradis) Brough, Mark Paradis, Judy (Paradis) Doustou, Tom Paradis, Donald Paradis, Denis Paradis, Keith Paradis, Tammy (Paradis) Pelletier, and Shawn Michaud as well as 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He remarried, Joella (Bouchard) Paradis, later in life. Maurice was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a part-owner of the Paradis' Family grocery store, along with 3 of his brothers, and loved greeting his customers. He worked hard and instilled that same work ethic into his children. He was a dedicated firefighter for more than 20 years, and a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He also dedicated many many hours of his time to grooming the snowmobile trails, which he always looked forward to. Maurice is known for his love of family, plowing snow, washing his vehicles, spending time at the lake, hunting and fishing trips with his boys, and last but not least, his sweet-tooth (especially Snickers). Maurice can be remembered for his chivalrous personality and attitude of "whatever!" His smile was known to light up a room. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, 10am at St. Louis church.
