Mildred (Millie) Plourde Albert, born on March 27, 1956, in Fort Kent, passed away on June 14, 2026, in Edmundston, NB, Canada. Known as Millie to many, she was cherished for her compassion, devotion to family, and unwavering dedication to caring for others.

Millie’s commitment to service defined much of her life’s work. As a certified nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Memory Care and Northern Maine Medical Center, as well as through her work in home care, Millie gave selflessly, providing comfort, dignity, and support to those in need. Always putting others before herself, she became a source of comfort and strength not just to her patients, but also to their families and her colleagues.

Family was at the very heart of Millie’s world. Her beloved daughter Julie brought immense joy and purpose to her life, and the memory of their bond will forever remain cherished. Her granddaughters, Alycia and Alyson LePain, were her pride and joy—her reason to live—and she cherished every precious moment with them, showering them with love, wisdom, and encouragement.

Millie is survived by her brothers Edward (Rose) Plourde, Danny Plourde, Maynard (Diane) Plourde, and Jeff (Colette) Plourde, who will remember her kindness and the special sibling connection they shared. Her loving granddaughters, Alycia and Alyson LePain, carry forward her legacy of resilience and compassion. Millie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a world of friends whose lives were brightened by her friendship and generosity.

She is predeceased by her dear daughter Julie, parents Josepha and Edwina Plourde, sisters Phleda Blier, Velma Caron, Gloria Caron, Linda Ouellette, and Tina Thibodeau, as well as her brothers Leanard Plourde, Eldon Plourde, Elmer Plourde, Roger Plourde. Their memories together form a tapestry of love and laughter that lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service honoring the life of Mildred (Millie) Albert Plourde will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. at Agape Christian Fellowship, located at 178 N Perley Brook Rd, Fort Kent, ME 04743. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a remarkable woman whose warmth, compassion, and steadfast love made an indelible difference in the lives of so many.
