Fort Kent---Mildred E. (Smart) Plourde, 74, passed away peacefully during the morning hours of January 28, 2023, at her residence in Fort Kent.  She was born in Caribou on June 20, 1948, daughter of the late Gordon and Geraldine (LaRoche) Smart.  Mrs. Plourde was predeceased by her husband, Sylvio J. Plourde, Sr.; her brothers, Paul Smart and Gordon Smart.  She is survived by her son, Sylvio R. Plourde, Jr.; her half children, Sandra, Betty, Doris, and Clarence; as well as many grandchildren; her sister, Theresa Roy; her brother, Daniel Smart.  Mrs. Plourde spent most of her professional life working property maintenance, factory work at Bemis Plastic, and she also worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at the Eagle Lake Boarding Home.  She will always be missed and remembered by all who knew her, family and friends.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the St. Louis Church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
