Van Buren--- Milton K. Viel, 88, peacefully entered into rest on Father's Day, Sunday, June 20, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 10, 1933, in Stockholm, ME, a son of the late Isidore and Delina (Theriault) Viel.

Milton worked many years in construction as a mason and bricklayer and assisted the construction of many buildings in the St. John Valley. During his rare spare time, he loved to tend to his vegetable garden, raise animals, or head into the woods and water to hunt and fish. He was a long-time member of the Van Buren four-wheeler and snowmobile clubs.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of over 60 years, Jeannine (Daigle) Viel of Van Buren; four daughters, Diane Vaillancourt and her husband Gary of Van Buren, Lisa Appaneal and her husband Scott of Greenville, Janice Dumond and her husband Patrick of Hamden, and Sharon Dubay and her husband John of Stuart, FL; three sisters, Doris Karcher of Connecticut, Bella Michaud and Pearl Rowland, both of Van Buren; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Milton was predeceased by five siblings.

At Milton's request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
