Obituary

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.—THOMAS CAMPBELL. It is with great sadness that the family of Nadine Landry announce her passing. Nadine Landry, 69,  passed on March 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at Northern Maine Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Nadine was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend. She generously gave of her time and would not say "no" to anyone who needed her. She selflessly gave her time helping others and always had a smile on her face no matter when times got tough. Even at the end, she shared her beautiful smile with us. It will be a smile that will never be forgotten. She was well known for her beautiful wedding and birthday cakes. Her works of art were enjoyed and admired from Maine to Texas. Most everyone from the St. John Valley either had one of her cakes or knew someone who did. For Nadine, making cakes was a labor of love. Nadine was employed by NMMC as manager of orthopedic specialties, starting as a clinic secretary for almost three decades. She was also past President of the Fort Kent Chapter of Columbiettes. Nadine was proud of her service to the Columbiettes and she remembered fondly the many fund raising events she helped organize and participated in to raise money for local charities. She was also a member of the NMMC Guild. The family camp in Eagle Lake was her favorite place to be. Nadine could be found on the deck, reading or swimming in the lake or riding their boat. Nothing made her happier than enjoying the summer at camp with her family. In addition, she enjoyed playing Mrs. Claus for local charities, nursing homes and families. This was a yearly tradition she and her husband both loved. Nadine was born the daughter of Eddie and Bernice (Boucher) Blier in Fort Kent on September 1, 1952. She was a graduate of FKCHS, class of 1970. Nadine is survived by her devoted husband, Jean Guy Landry. Also surviving are her 2 sons, Lenny Landry and his wife Marla (Jandreau) Landry of Fort Kent and Justin Landry, also of Fort Kent. 2 grandchildren, Max Jandreau of Fort Kent and Roseanna (David) McAlexander of Simms, Texas. One great grandson, Emmett McAlexander and great granddaughter Piper McAlexander, who is due in May. Also surviving are her mother, Bernice Blier, and mother in-law, Patricia Landry; special friend, Clair Moss; many in laws nieces and nephews and God daughter, Felicia. Predeceasing Nadine was beloved father, Eddie Blier; a special Father in Law, Edgar Landry and foster sister, Barbara Hoff of Plano Texas. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John Vianney Parish in Fort Kent on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10am. Our family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Northern Maine Medical Center for the love and care they so graciously gave her. In lieu of flowers and at Nadine's request, donations can be made to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund at Northern Maine Medical Center. Fly high with the Angels. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home
