Nancy Ann Cassidy

Fort Kent & Emporia, VA--- Nancy A. Cassidy, 75, passed away peacefully March 5, 2026, at a Bangor healthcare facility, with her loving family at her side. She was born June 9, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late John and Edith (Wehman) Kuhlken.

After Nancy married, she relocated to Virgina where she worked as a metallurgical engineer for several years for DuPont. Later she went on to working in a law firm as a paralegal secretary. For many years, Nancy was an apple farmer and loved tending to the many acres of fruit trees, accompanied by a flock of geese that she raised. She developed a lifelong passion for swimming during her teenage years when she and her father stayed in a summer house near the Long Island Sound, and enjoyed swimming in pools, lakes and the ocean in the many places she lived thereafter. She always had busy hands; she helped build and renovate two houses, enjoyed sewing and doing eggery—creating artistic renderings on duck and geese eggs. She relocated to Fort Kent after retirement to be closer to her son and embraced the beautiful sights and rivers of the St. John Valley.

She is survived by one son, Kennedy “Ned” Rubert-Nason and his wife Patricia of Fort Kent; two grandsons, Colin and Justin;

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on June 18, 2026, at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Fort Kent.
