Obituary

Fort Kent --- Nelson Bourgoin, 91, passed away on February 15, 2019 at a Fort Kent health care facility. Nelson was born on January 2, 1928, son of the late Honore and Marie (Theriault) Bourgoin. Nelson was a hardworking man who spent his whole career in the woods and was known to be quite the musician, who loved to play the harmonica. Nelson was a family man who adored, his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great -grandchildren . He is survived by his loving wife, Viola Bourgoin Pelletier of Fort Kent; seven children, Carlene Pelletier of Connecticut, Clinton Bourgoin and his wife Gloria of Waterville, Jenny Bernier and late husband Clinton of Fort Kent, Leroy Bourgoin and his wife Violet of Fort Kent, Diane Lagassie and her husband Dana of Vassalboro, Gary Bourgoin and his wife Susan of Fort Kent and Tina Michaud and her husband Patrick of Fort Kent; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren ; one brother, Berthier Bourgoin and his wife Pauline of Madawaska; along with many nieces and nephews. Nelson is predeceased by his first wife, Armande Bourgoin; one daughter, Robertine Babin; four grandchildren; and three siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Family and friends may call from 9:30 – 10:45 at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, the morning of the service.
