IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nelson
Dubois
August 12, 1935 – November 14, 2021
FORT KENT – Nelson Dubois, 86, of Fort Kent passed away peacefully on November 14, 2021. Nel was born in 1935 in Fort Kent, Maine, to Alphe Dubois and Leontine Bernier Dubois. He graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 1954. Nel took tremendous pride in serving in the U.S. Army as a munitions specialist from 1958 to 1960. In 1960, Nel took the love of his life, Sandra Brown, tobogganing off the Strip Road and never let go. The couple married in May of 1962.
Nel's employment experiences included being well known as the manager of the Big L store in Fort Kent. He moved on to carpentry which, just prior to his retirement, culminated in the building of a beautiful home on Eagle Lake for his younger brother, Carlton Dubois.
Nel loved his family with all that he was and all that he had. This was clear to everyone whose lives he touched. He taught his family to be modest, be humble, be kind and to love fiercely.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Brown Dubois, his children, Dawn Dubois Cruz and husband Joe Cruz, Ross Dubois and partner Cara Soucie Kord, Bobbi Jackson and partner Paul Saliwanchik, granddaughters, Olivia Dubois, Abigail Dubois, Heather Jackson and Samantha Jackson, siblings, Carlton Dubois and wife Beatrice Ouellette Dubois, Gloria "Kim" Voisine and husband Joel Voisine, Dana "Butch" Dubois and wife Addy Tripaldi Dubois; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, siblings, Viola Lizotte and husband, Elmer Lizotte, and Nancy Caron and husband Roland "Nou" Caron.
A visiting hour will be held at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home in Fort Kent on Friday, November 19, from 8:00 to 9:00a.m., immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis church at 9:00am, with military honors celebrated at 10:00am.
