Van Buren & Caribou- Noella M. Deschaine, 76, of Caribou, formerly Van Buren, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 17, 2015. She was born February 24, 1938 in Grand Isle, a daughter of the late Damase and Melvina (Vaillancourt) Godin. Noella last worked with Cary Medical Center in the housekeeping department, until her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed walking Collins Pond and the recreation center in Caribou and visiting her friends. She also loved to attend the Bingo games at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Caribou. She cherished all the time she spent with her children and grandchildren She is survived by: two sons, Steve Deschaine and his wife Cindy of Presque Isle, and Vince Deschaine and his wife Darlene of So. Windsor, CT; three daughters, Jeanne Theriault and her husband Reynold of Van Buren, Anne Bouley and her husband Don of Ashland, and Linda Goudreau and her husband Michel of Grand Falls, NB, Canada; three siblings, Armand Godin and his wife Melvina, Jeannine Fortin, and Deb Chabre and her husband Dick, all of Caribou; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Noella is predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Adrien Deschaine; a daughter, Penny Deschaine; and many brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday 6-8PM and Saturday morning 9-10:30AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
