Van Buren and Hamlin--- Norma P. Cyr, 90, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, July 8, 2022, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born April 16, 1932 in Keegan, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Cecile (Voisine) Labbe and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1952.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Norma attended former Eastern Academy of Beauty Culture, Lewiston, graduating in 1961. She proudly owned and operated Norma's Beauty Salon in her home for over 50 years.

Norma was a past member of former Business & Professional Women's Club of Van Buren, and the former Van Buren Lioness Club, and acting President from 1979 to 1980. Norma enjoyed knitting, reading, playing cards, and gardening in her flower beds.

She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 70 years, Raymond N. Cyr of Van Buren; one son Troy Cyr of Florida; a grandson, Travis Cyr; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Norma was predeceased by a son, Glen Cyr in 2018, a sister, Claudette Cyr, and two brothers, Roland and Fernand Labbe.

Norma's family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff of Borderview Rehab and Living Center for their compassionate and attentive care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, July 18, 2022, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Main St., Van Buren. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
