Eagle Lake & Cape Elizabeth--- Norma (Gagnon) Michaud, 83, passed away peacefully at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, on Friday June 30, 2023. Norma was born on June 17, 1940 in Eagle Lake, Maine. She was the oldest daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel Gagnon.
Norma was an incredible mother and homemaker who raised 4 children. She babysat children for several years once her own kids were in school. When her children were a bit older, she started working for Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent in the Food Services Department. She did everything in the kitchen from cook, server, supervisor and everything in between until she retired. She enjoyed all types of Arts & Crafts including Ceramics, Dried Flower Arrangements, Wall Decor, and jewelry making. She loved to work in the flower gardens surrounding her home.
Norma was predeceased by her brother Donald Gagnon and grandson Shawn Nadeau.
She is survived by her four children, Glenn Michaud of Terryville, CT, Wayne Michaud of Standish, ME, Tina Ouellete of Scarborough, ME, and Scott Michaud of Watertown, CT. She was called Memere, Mimi or Nana by her 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Reginald Gagon and his wife Nancy of Terryville, CT, and sister Elizabeth Dube and her husband Norman of Torrington, CT. She also left behind her dear cousin Lorna Plourde of Berwick, ME and many nieces, nephews, cousins, close neighbors, friends and Buddy her Bichon Frise who was her favorite companion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Monday July 24, 2023 at St, Mary Church Eagle Lake, Maine. Interment will take place immediately after the Mass in the Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home from 8:30-9:15 a.m. on Monday before the Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
