Fort Kent—Norman G. Belanger, 89, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born on December 26, 1932, son of the late Sylvio and Mabel (Gauvin) Belanger. Norman was the oldest son of a family of six. His biggest passion was farming and discussing his love for John Deere tractors with his friends and family. Norman was known by many in town, especially all his farmer friends. He was a veteran of the US Army. Norman worked at Frank Martin & Sons for over 30 years as a mechanic, then becoming the shop supervisor. He was a gentle loving soul for his family and friends; he left behind his life lessons to everyone who knew him. Norman is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Ouellette and her husband Karl of Fort Kent, Lorraine Babin and her husband Clayton of Fort Kent; four grandchildren, Corey Hebert, Wendy (Hebert) Voisine, Troy Babin, and R.J Belanger; seven great-grandchildren, Macy Bard, Carter Hebert, Abby Bard, Brooke Hebert, Paytin Hebert, Keira Babin, Kinley Babin. Norman is predeceased by his parents, Sylvio and Mabel (Gauvin) Belanger; his beloved wife of 62 years, Arlene (Levasseur) Belanger; his only son, Ricky Belanger; two sisters, Annette and Rena; two brothers, Ronald, Reno. Per Norman's wishes there will be no viewing or funeral services; a graveside service will take place on Monday, May 9, 2022, 1:30pm, at St. Louis cemetery in Fort Kent. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
