April 22, 1939 – May 30, 2022
Caswell --- Norman A. Duprey, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, 2022, at a Fort Kent hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 22, 1939 in Caswell, a son of the late Aurelle and Leda (King) Duprey.
Norman worked on Loring Air Force base for many years in the commissary and dairy department. Previously, while in Southington, CT, he worked at Pratt & Whitney. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Hamlin. Norm was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Van Buren, where he was not only a proud member, but cherished being a Knight with his son, Scott. Norm loved gardening in his yard and cherished the many visits from his grandchildren. He certainly enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his loving wife and vacationed together often at the Lakeview Campgrounds. During his younger years, he and his wife loved traveling, and were able to visit many memorable places, such as Alaska, Germany, and Niagara Falls.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Arlene (Labreck) Duprey of Caswell; six children, Tony Duprey and his wife Cyndy of Madison, Lenny Duprey of Waterville, Norma-Jean Duprey of No. Carolina, Scott Duprey and his wife Julie of Van Buren, Crystal Madore and her husband Mark of Connor Twp., and Kim Duprey and her fiancé Kirk Phair of Limestone; two siblings, Roland Duprey and his wife Jackie of Caswell and Linda Lucarotti of New Hampshire; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by one son, David Duprey, one grandchild, Lindsey Rose Duprey, and seven siblings, Joan Malone, Dorothy Potcner, Gilbert Duprey, Jean Potzner, Vincent Duprey Sr., Dick Duprey, and Thelma Duprey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin Rd., Hamlin. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday evening 6-8 PM and Saturday morning 8:30-9:15 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
