Obituary

Van Buren--- Norman R. Madore, 79, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born June 6, 1937 in Cyr Plantation, a son of the late Robert and Jeannette (Ouellette) Madore, and late step-mother, Lottie (Martin) Madore.
Norman last worked with his brother over 22 years as a carpenter in the St. John Valley. Previously he spent several years in Connecticut and Arizona before returning to his beloved Maine to work with Maine Potato Service, Caribou. He enjoyed four-wheeling in his younger years, listening to French music, and visiting his friends at Van Buren community center meals. He loved walking around the streets of Van Buren and always attended Saturday Mass at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church.
He is survived by: thirteen siblings and half-siblings, Clarence Madore of E. Hartford, CT, Michael Madore and his wife Sheila of Van Buren, Dean Madore of Grand Isle, Robert Jr. "June" Madore and his wife Christine of Manchester, CT, Donald Madore of Phoenix, AZ, Robertine Madore of Caribou, Nancy Byram and her husband Mario of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, Diane Parent of Grand Isle, Norma Cloutier and her husband George of Campbellton, NB, Canada, Carline Ruest and her husband Addis of Van Buren, Joanne Beaulieu and her husband Clayton of Sanford, Patsy Stewart and her husband David of Caribou, and Rene Violette and his wife Rena of Lille; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and step-mother, Norman was predeceased by eight siblings, including Gerard Madore, Ronald Madore and Jeannine Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Friday 6-8:00 PM and Saturday morning 8:30-9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Spring interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery.
