Grand Isle--- Normande Chasse, 88, entered into Eternal Life Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at a Caribou hospital, following a short illness. She was born January 11, 1935 in Grand Isle, a daughter of the late Thadde and Leda (Bourgoin) Lavoie.

Normande worked over 20 years with former Jade East Perfume Factory, Madawaska. She was a longtime member of the Ladies of St. Anne and, a devout Catholic, was a parishioner of St. Gerard Church. Normande loved to go dancing with her friends during her younger years. She was a social butterfly, and even while residing at Borderview Rehab she would tour the halls to chat with her neighbors and nurses, and sometime help with their hair.

She is survived by three sons, Glenn Chasse and his companion Lisa Womac of Houston, TX, Mike Chasse of Lisbon, and retired SMSGT Brian Chasse and his wife Kim; a daughter Debbie Harvey of Portland; a sister, Lorraine Dubay and her husband Clarence of Canaan, CT; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Normande was predeceased by her beloved husband of almost 38 years, Gilman Chasse, in 1990, a son, Daniel Chasse in 2005, and siblings Clarence Lavoie, Sylvia Dunham, Richard Lavoie, Donald Lavoie, and Herby Lavoie

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday morning 8:30 – 9:15 at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 – 10th Ave., Madawaska. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
