LIMESTONE/HAMLIN--- Omer N. Jean, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at his home with his family at his side. He was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Fall River, MA, son of the late Omer and Angelina (Pelletier) Jean. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He worked with the City of Fall River, MA, for many years as a water serviceman, and relocated to Hamlin in 1989. Omer is survived by: four sons, Robert and his wife Nora of Plattsburgh, NY, Anthony and his wife Brenda of Hamlin, Christopher and his wife Danielle of Limestone, and Patrick and his wife Lynn of St. Andre, NB, Canada; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Carolyn (Santana) Jean in 2000, a son, Richard Jean, in 1965, and his brother Clement Jean, in 2002. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM on Friday, August 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hamlin. Family and friends may greet the family on Friday from 9 AM until 10:15 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home (formerly Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home), 118 High St., Van Buren.
