Obituary

Madawaska---It was a sweet reunion in Heaven August 14, 2023 when Omer J. Pelletier, 72, passed from the loving care of his wife, Muriel, and daughter, Tonia, on to his final home with Jesus Christ and his children, Wayne and Nathalie. He was born with his twin brother and best friend, Elmer, February 2, 1951, in their family home in St. David to Edmund and Mabel (Beaulieu) Pelletier.  Alongside their father, Omer and his brothers, Bob, Elmer, Dave and Mike, became the hardworking and dependable pillars of the Ed Pelletier & Sons Company. The company was established in 1958, and Omer started working around the age of 10. He officially retired from the company in 2021.  Not one to slow down or stop working, Omer designed and built a beautiful home for the love of his life and himself. He continued to work closely alongside his brother, Bob, in the last year to make his dream a reality. He got the big garage he always wanted, and he gave Mom one of her favorite views to look out their bay window at night and see all the lights in Canada.  Omer and Mom, as he affectionately called her, met in 1968 and were married on May 5, 1972. Surrounded by family and friends, in 2022, they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Dad showed his love for his family by being a faithful provider. Through the heartaches and challenges of life, they found comfort and strength in one another, and their love grew stronger as the years went by.  When Dad was not working hard, tinkering with something, or making big plans for his next project, he treasured time relaxing in Daytona Beach, Florida, with Mom. Each year the family looked forward to his Mother's Day lobster feasts. Omer & Muriel were often seen at the Sporting Club on Saturday nights dancing up a storm while the jukebox played. He designated Sundays a day of rest in their home that started by going to mass and usually included lunch out or with the family. He also enjoyed being "Pépère Mer" to his seven grandchildren and was extra happy when they danced the night away with him and "Mémère Mur" at their 50th party.  With his proud, determined, hardworking, stubborn and "go big or go home" attitude, he will be missed by those who loved him, especially Mom. He is survived by his wife, Muriel; daughter Tonia and her husband, Scott; daughter by marriage, Nicole; grandchildren, Jacob, Emma, Lucas, Dani, Eva, Taylor and Tobi; siblings Bob, Elmer (Louise), Dave (Bern), Mike (Beth), Lorraine (Larry) Barker, and Carmen Dixon. He was predeceased by two of his children, Nathalie (2000) and Wayne (2017), and five of his siblings, Verna Lavoie, Jackie Kichas, Nancy Daigle, Viola Hebert, and Richard Pelletier.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at the St. David Church. Friends and family may offer their condolences at Lajoie Funeral home in Madawaska on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be no visiting hours the morning of the funeral.  Donations in Omer's memory can be made to Angel Snowfest (providing support to Edgar J Paradis Fund, Angel Flight NE, and PALS) at 9 Lakeview Drive, St. Agatha ME 04772.
