St. David-- Omerine A. Dionne, 86, went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2021. She was born on January 12, 1935, the daughter of Rene and Irene (Michaud) Clavette.

She was the wife of deceased husband J. Normand Dionne and is survived by her two sons Richard and his fiancée Caryl Albert of Madawaska, Michael and wife Sandra of St. David and one daughter Lisa of Frenchville, four grandchildren, Jennifer of Presque Isle and Shannon of Bar Harbor, Allen of St. David and Aaron of Madawaska and six great-grandchildren.  Other surviving siblings are two brothers, Clifford and wife Omerine of Danbury, Ct. and Fernand and his wife Rachel of Woodbury, Ct., and four sisters, Gilberte and husband George Karas of Sun City Center, FL, Therese and her husband Lionel Berube of St. Anne, N.B., Rita Dionne of Sinclair, ME, Jeanne Stymiest of Portland, ME, and also many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her husband Normand, three brothers, Richard, Lionel, and Alphie Clavette, and two sisters Jeannette Morin and Germaine Tibbetts.

Omerine was the fourth child of 12 children to the Clavette family. She was a hard worker and loved by many as she worked in laundry at nursing homes and did housekeeping at private homes. She loved knitting and would knit wool socks, scarves, bonnets, and slippers and crochet beautiful bed size blankets for her family and friends.

She was a devoted Catholic who prayed daily and was proud of her family and her achievement of getting her High School Diploma this past spring. She will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 14, at 10 AM at the St. David Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, for those wish to make a donation in memory of Omerine, they may give to a cancer organization of their choice, such as American Cancer Foundation, Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, or to the House of Comfort in Presque Isle, ME. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
