Grand Isle--- Patrick P. Albert, 82, died Monday, November 28, 2016, at a Bangor hospital following a long battle with heart disease. He was born March 16, 1934 in Madawaska, a son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Picard) Albert.
Patrick enlisted with the US Army, serving stateside during the Korean War. He worked in the shipping department for former Fraser Paper, Madawaska, for over 45 years. He was a parishioner of St. Gerard – Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, Grand Isle. Patrick was a long-time member of the American Legion, Post #147, and the St. John Valley DAV. He was a hard worker, had a passion for raising cattle, and loved "Green" Tractors. He was never too busy to spend time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren, creating many memorable moments through the years. One of his most prideful moments was meeting his third great grandchild a week before passing.
He is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Carlene (Ouellette) Albert of Grand Isle; two children, Kenneth Albert and his wife Elaine of Oceanside, CA and Judy Albert and her husband Willie Parent of St. Anne, NB, Canada; a half-sister, Gemma Dumont of Augusta; three grandchildren, Luc, Daniel, and Andre; and three great grandchildren, Kayla, Ellie and Samuel
Besides his parents, Patrick is predeceased by his son, Dennis Albert, a brother Alva Albert and a sister Betty Warn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Grand Isle, followed by military honors. Relatives and friends may greet the family Saturday morning 9-9:45 AM at the church. Burial will be in Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
