IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick
Belanger
October 19, 1995 – June 23, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, Patrick David Belanger on June 23, 2023 from brain cancer, at the age of 27. Despite Patrick's immense bravery and determination, treatments were unsuccessful.
Patrick graduated high school in 2014 and earned a degree in Diesel Hydraulics from Northern Maine Community College in 2016. Patrick was a recipient of the Mike Rowe Work Ethics Scholarship. He was also the first Fort Kent resident to be awarded a Gauvin Scholarship.
As a young man, Patrick worked hard for everything he wanted and held several jobs during his life. He started at a young age working in the woods on weekends with a close family friend repairing and servicing heavy machinery and mowing lawns for several of his uncle's clients. He then worked for a number of years at the local Sears Hometown Store as warehouse manager, appliance delivery driver and appliance salesman. After that he briefly worked at Roger's Power Sport and Equipment Dealership before moving on to work as a mechanic at Griffeth Ford in Caribou, and finally took a position at Twin Rivers Paper Mill.
Patrick enjoyed helping others and took pride in everything he did. In 2014, he organized a fundraiser for his best bud Jacob Pelletier when he and his family were struck with tragedy.
Patrick was always smiling and enjoyed spending time with his best buddies. Patrick loved everything outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Patrick was a happy and funny guy and everyone who knew Patrick fell in love with him.
He will be dearly missed by his mother and stepfather, Tammy and Alan Susee; his little sister, Victoria Belanger and her fiancé, Dominick Voisine; his grandmother, Joleen Jandreau; and many aunts and uncles; and countless friends. But most of all by his dog, Gunner.
Patrick will have a public memorial on July 3, 2023, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Lajoie Funeral Home in Fort Kent. His family asks that anyone with fond memories and or stories to feel free to attend and share.
The Susee family wishes to thank all those who helped us and Patrick in the past few months. Your support has meant the world to us. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be sent to one of the following organizations: Edgar J. (Guy) Paradis Cancer Fund, c/o Northern Maine Medical Center, 194 East Main Street, Fort Kent, ME 04743.
