Van Buren--- Patrick Michaud, 61, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at a Caribou hospital following an illness. He was born November 16, 1955 in Van Buren, a son of the late Roland and Theresa (St. Pierre) Michaud.
He last worked with sheet metal in Portland for a short time. Previously, he worked in Florida for irrigation and ductwork companies. Patrick enjoyed riding ATV and especially eating out with his companion, Rose, and his friends. He loved being around people, spoiling his nieces and nephews, and was a well-known joker.
He is survived by: his loving companion of 35 years, Rose Fortin of Van Buren; two children, Jason Michaud of No. Carolina and Susan Michaud of Presque Isle; one grandson, Maddox; six siblings, Donald Michaud and his wife Sally of Grand Falls, NB, Canada, Eugene Michaud of Van Buren, Gerald Michaud and his wife Gloria of Van Buren, Linda Desjardins of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, Rachel Loth and her husband Frank of No. Carolina and Rena Small and her husband Donald of So. Dakota; and several nieces and nephews, who he loved to spoil.
Besides his parents, Patrick was predeceased by four brothers, Raynold Michaud in 1954, Raymond Michaud in 1956, Reno Michaud in 1962 and Steven Michaud in 1992, one sister, Rolande Ouellette in 1978, and a nephew Xavier "Kirk" Michaud in 2009.
At Patrick's request, there were no funeral services. Burial will take place at a later date in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren.
