February 14, 1954 – July 25, 2021
Fort Kent – Paul Marquis (Joseph Paul Marquis), 67, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021 at his home, to be with the Lord. Paul was born on February 14, 1954, son of the late Adrien and Jeanne (Dufour) Marquis. Paul first worked for his parents at their family grocery store, Condy Lizotte upholstery shop, civil defense director from 1974-1978, ambulance service from 1973-1977, Northern Maine Medical Center as a LPN from 1974-1977, Lavedier, Plourde's cleaning, John 's convenience, plus Bartletts Market (Stonington, Maine), Fort Kent police department dispatcher. Paul had many great jobs but the best one was being a Dad to his six sons. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Kimberly Marquis; five sons, Mark Marquis and his wife Kelly of Presque Isle, Jesse Marquis of Warren, Andrew Marquis and his wife Tab of Presque Isle, Benjamin Marquis and his wife Samm of Gorham, Charlie Marquis of Gouldsboro; one brother, Alphie Marquis and his wife Michelle of Connecticut; three sisters, Jeanne Banville of Connecticut, Lucille Toussaint of Caribou, Rita Desjardins and her husband Peter of Brunswick; one brother in-law, Lou Lewis of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Adrien, Liam, Brady; two step-grandchildren, Hailey, Sam. Along with many nieces and nephews. Paul is predeceased by his parents Adrien and Jeanne (Dufour) Marquis; his in-laws, Elton and Carolyn Hall who he loved dearly. One son, Michael Marquis who passed in 2018. One sister, Theresa Lewis; one brother in-law, Bernard Banville. Family and friends are invited to the Knights of Columbus hall in Fort Kent on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10am to celebrate Paul's life, memories, and laughter together. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Paul's memory to, PAWS Animal Welfare Society Inc., PO Box 94, Fort Kent Mills, ME 04744 and/or; Martin-Klein American Legion Post #133, 411 W. Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Paul said it best, "I thank the almighty for the good life and may we all meet someday…see you later…." Arrangments have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
