Pelletier
October 25, 1935 – January 7, 2024
Madawaska--- Paul E. Pelletier, 88, peacefully entered into rest January 7, 2024, at Aroostook House of Comfort, with his loving family at his side. He was born October 25, 1935, in Madawaska, a son of the late Donat and Egline (Bouchard) Pelletier.
Paul was a heavy equipment operator for many years with Ed Pelletier Construction Company, until his retirement in 2015 at the age of 80 years. Previously he worked with the Madawaska Highway Department for 25 years. Paul was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly, Madawaska, and was a former usher for St. Thomas Church. He was an avid woodworker, and created many wishing wells, chests, and swing sets. Paul was also a member of the Madawaska ATV Club. He especially enjoyed playing card games with his family. Paul will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends for his work ethic, his infectious sense of humor, and his absolute love for his growing family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Lauria (Bourgoin) Pelletier of Madawaska; five children, David Pelletier of Madawaska, Sharon Lizotte and her husband Gene of St. Agatha, Gary Pelletier and his wife Lise of Madawaska, James Pelletier and his wife Becky of Madawaska, and Janice Pelletier and her husband Carl of Hermon; five siblings, Gilbert Pelletier and his wife Leola, Clifford Pelletier, Jeannette Morneault and her husband Armand, Joe Pelletier, and Joan Ouellette and her husband Bob; a brother-in-law, Bob Bourgoin and his wife Pat; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by a grandson, Sam Lizotte, and a daughter-in-law, Marcella Pelletier, five siblings, Alby, Germaine, Gilmay, Jeanne, and Marie Mae
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, January 15, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 – 10th Ave., Madawaska. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's name may be made to: Aroostook House of Comfort, PO Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
