Fort Kent--- Peter Vaillancourt, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at the age of 61, surrounded by family at a Lewiston hospital. He was born January 26, 1964, in Fort Kent, a son of the late Lawrence and Bernadette (Belanger) Vaillancourt, and was a graduate of Wisdom High School, Class of 1982.

Peter worked as a truck driver for eight years until he had a truck accident in the woods that left him a quadriplegic. Though his quadriplegia led to several medical setbacks over the years, Peter never gave up hope nor lost his faith. He was a fighter. Peter was loved by many and he will be greatly missed, and was so fortunate to have said his final goodbyes to his many loved ones.

He is survived and will live on in the hearts his wife of almost 41 years, Lisa (Caron) Vaillancourt; two sons, Chad Vaillancourt and his wife Kaitlyn and Brad Vaillancourt and his wife Justine, all of Fort Kent; four grandchildren, Addison, Clara, Nico, and Gino; his phenomenal sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis Marquis and her husband Gerald of Fort Kent, whom were always there for Peter and his wife; sister, Brenda Shipp and her husband Dennis of Michigan; brother, Danny Vaillancourt and his wife Margie of Sanford; and sister Tammy Hebert and her husband Kenneth of Frenchville; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by a brother Philip Vaillancourt, father-in-law, Armand Caron, brother-in-law, Rosaire Gagne, and niece and nephews, Jessica Caron, Troy Caron, Tucker Caron and Tanner Marquis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. With keeping with Peter wishes, there will be no visiting hours. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
