Obituary

Fort Kent - Philip Joseph Morin, 82, passed away peacefully on January 5th at the Aroostook House of Comfort surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Torrington, Connecticut on June 1st 1942, son of the late Eddie Morin and Anida (Frigault) Morin. Phil served in the U.S. Military for several years after finishing high school.

As a small business owner since the 70's, Phil has helped many members of the community and built relationships with all of his customers. He was a businessman until his very last days. Since his 20's, Phil has invented many tools, control devices, and even toys. His most popular patent invention being an automotive test light that is used by professionals across the county and surrounding areas. When Phil wasn't in his shop, he was riding motorcycle or spending time with his family. His true passion in life was putting a smile on the faces of his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phil will be remembered as a protector, a family man and a genius.

He is survived by his wife Anita (Michaud) Morin of 56 years; two children, Cynthia Morin of Caribou and Danny Morin of Fort Kent; three grandchildren, Kyle Morin of Cross Lake, Sarah Daigle of Van Buren and Brooke Daigle of Presque Isle; two great grandchildren, Luke Morin and Evan Farley; sister Lynda (Morin) Tardie and her husband Don Tardie; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10am on Friday, January 17th, 2025, at St. John Vianney Parish in Fort Kent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle.
