Van Buren--- Philip J. Rossignol, 70, peacefully entered into rest Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his home, with his family at his side. He was born March 30, 1952 in Van Buren, a son of the late Theodule Rossignol and Bertha (Vaillancourt) Rossignol St. Pierre.
He last worked for JP Levesque Lumber Mill, Ashland, as a jack-of-all-trades, over 25 years, until his medical retirement. Previously he worked several years with former Pinette Mill in Van Buren. Phil had a generous heart and gave anything he had to anyone in need. He like to spend his time tinkering on various machines and loved helping his friends and neighbors fix up their mowers and appliances. Phil used to love touring the waters around the St. John River in his kayak. He loved stopping at his favorite coffee spot, Tulsa, Van Buren, to chat with his friends and get the latest town news.
He is survived by four children, Ashley Marvin and her wife Kristen of Virginia, Crystal Rossignol and her husband Jeffrey of Connor, Shawn Durost of Portland, and Amber Kennedy and her husband Glenn of Alaska; three brothers, Joseph Rossignol and his wife Eileen of Van Buren, Leo Rossignol and his wife Sally of Crouseville, and Marc Rossignol and his wife April of Alfred; six sisters, Irene Whitmore and her husband Phil of Buckfield, Marie Roy of Turner, Anita Donovan and her husband Lloyd of Washburn, Leda Burrow and her husband Eddie, Shirley Newton and her husband Tony, all of Arkansas, and Doris Murphy and her fiancé Gill Gagnon of Grand Isle; seven grandchildren, Christian, Everly, Callan, Ozai, Ellie, Cyrus and Ayden; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by six siblings, Rosaire Rossignol, Aurele Rossignol, Rita Rossignol, Helen Violette, Theresa Langrel, and Germaine Whitten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, June, 21, 2022, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Main St., Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday morning 9-9:45 AM at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
