Obituary

Eagle Lake — Priscilla Devoe, 94, passed away on February 9, 2024, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility.  She was born in St. Francis, Maine on July 14, 1929, daughter of Fred and Elsie (Martin)Thibodeau.  Priscilla made a lasting impact on those who knew her.  She was known by everyone in her community as a fabulous cook, a talented seamstress, an exceptional dancer, and one of the hardest working women you would ever meet.  Being from and raising a large family led to her being able to do almost anything that needed to be done from feeding a brood of 20 with little notice to painting a house to helping skin and process a deer.  She always felt disadvantaged having to leave school at a young age, but she was wise in life knowledge and used what she knew to help others whenever she was able.  Her family was the center of her life and she especially adored hugs and kisses with the many grandchildren and great-children she leaves as her legacy.  She was predeceased by her husband, Fernando; one daughter, Elaine Devoe; her parents; and several siblings.  She is survived by two sisters, Edwina Cook of Caribou and Linda Thibodeau of Van Buren; eleven children, Christine Parent, Iris Raymond, Galen Devoe, Brian Devoe, and Vaughn Devoe all of Eagle Lake, Glen Devoe of Southington, CT, Dale Devoe of Augusta, Nadine Plante of Las Cruces, NM, Allen Devoe of Lewiston, Carl Devoe of St. Agatha, and Stacey Cyr of Madawaska;  twenty one grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.  A memorial service to commemorate her life will be celebrated later this summer in Eagle Lake.
