Obituary

Frenchville- Priscilla Espling, 92, passed away on April 1, 2020, at St. Joseph's Memory Care in Frenchville.  Born in St. Agatha on April 9, 1927, she was the daughter of Esther Doyle and Maine State Police Lieutenant Edward Doyle.

Priscilla attended schools in Fort Kent. She worked several secretarial positions in Washington, DC, Loring AFB, the Caribou area, and Fort Drum, NY. In 1989, she retired from Federal Service at Fort Drum, NY.  Priscilla completed an Interior Decorating Extension Study from LaSalle University, and earned two Associate of Science Degrees in Business from Unity College and Husson College.

After retiring, Priscilla and her husband, Gordon, spent several years living at their camp on Eagle Lake in the summer and wintering in Boynton Beach, Florida.  They always enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. In her earlier years she was an avid snow skier and loved the Maine winters. She also enjoyed being on the water in the summertime. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She loved listening to music, especially the "old songs". She would often be found at the piano playing tunes from long ago.  Priscilla lived her life with a very strong faith in God.

Priscilla is survived by her three children: Kim Espling and wife Peggy from Woodland; Patty Gagnon and husband Dave from Madison, NH; and Craig Espling from Brewer; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several cousins; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gordon; her sister, Dorothy Doyle; and her brother, Edward Doyle, Jr.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's for the wonderful care provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Fort Kent at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. John Vianney Parish, 26 E. Main Street, Fort Kent, ME 04743.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home
