St. Francis--- Robert "Bert" Nadeau, 56, passed unexpectedly June 19, 2025, at a Portland hospital, following a short period of failing health. He was born October 28, 1968, a son of the late Richard and Patricia (Walker) Nadeau.

He was a 1987 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School and went on to work at the former Irving Mill in St. John. Years later, Bert went onto a lifelong career as a carpenter. He worked in many homes and businesses across the St. John Valley for many years, and worked with various contractors, including NJC Carpentry, Home Solutions, and JR Construction. Bert was a self-proclaimed homebody and adored hosting his family and friends at his home. Many great stories echoed across the St. John River late into his bonfire evenings.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Bonnie (Plourde) Nadeau of St. Francis; four children, Danielle, Abigail, Dalton and Ethan Nadeau, all of St. Francis; one granddaughter, Hollynd; and many cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Bert was predeceased by an infant son, Brett Richard.
