Obituary
Grand Isle---Rachel Bechard, 87, passed away on September 29, 2017 at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born in St. David on July 21, 1930, daughter of the late Paul and Gertie Gendreau. She is survived by three children, Judy Doucette and her husband Roger of Grand Isle, Ken Bechard of Bradley, Jeff Bechard of Richmond; five grandchildren, Kim Kempton and her husband Shaun of South Portland, Matt Bechard of Bradley, Nicole Gendreau and her husband Eric of St. David, Jericho Bechard and Jeremy Bechard both of Richmond; one great-grandchild, Madison of Bradley; one sister, Rolande MacWhinnie and her husband Rodney "Mac" of Madawaska; three brothers, Yvon Gendreau and his wife Simone of Southington, CT, Eldon Gendreau of Madawaska, Carl Gendreau and his wife Norma of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Bechard, two sisters and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm on Monday. There will be no visiting hours on Tuesday before the service.
