MADAWASKA - Rachel M. Rouleau, 78, entered her Fifth Day June 14, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born Sept. 9, 1932, in St. Agatha, the daughter of Arthur and Yvette (Ouellette) Plourde. A loving mother and wife, she gave of herself to many. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren. She was an active volunteer within her parish, as well as a member of Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed gardening and spending time at her camp at Long Lake. She is survived by her husband, Leonel "Piton" Rouleau of Madawaska; her daughter, Theresa Beaulieu and her husband, Danny, of Madawaska; two grandchildren, Justine Martin and her husband, Dustin, of New Market, N.H., and Ashley Beaulieu; three great-grandchildren, Rachael, Melody and Lianna; one sister, Julie Cyr of St. Agatha; one brother, Roger "Bee" Plourde of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Cecile Cyr. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Condolences may be given to the family 9 a.m. until the time of service at the front of the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
