Madawaska—Raoul Daigle, 87, of Madawaska, died peacefully on June 12, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on February 9 ^th , 1935 in Madawaska, Maine and graduated from Madawaska high school in 1953. After a few years working in Connecticut, he enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1956.   He came back to Madawaska and met the love of his life, Therese Ouellette of Baker Brook, NB, got married and cultivated a romance that lasted 63 years.  He worked at the local paper mill for 40 years and retired in 1997.  He liked to read, was an avid chess player and played in local tournaments.  He also like to play cards and cribbage with family and friends.  He was a man of few words but was very well informed on current events.

Raoul is predeceased by his father, Ludger Daigle and mother, Edith Daigle; all his siblings (7 brothers and 1 sister); and a great granddaughter Brea Bedard. He is survived by his wife, Therese; his son Paul (wife Susan) of Merrimac, MA; his daughters, Ann Thompson of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and Nancy Turcotte (husband David) of Cornville Maine; his six grandchildren Kelly Daigle, Ryan Daigle, Adam Turcotte, Samantha Turcotte, Brooke Thompson (Bedard) and Zackery Thompson; and his great granddaughter Bella Bedard.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 10AM, at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, 337 St Thomas Street, Madawaska, ME 04756.
