Van Buren and Hamlin--- Raymond N. Cyr, 90, peacefully entered into eternal life and reunited with his beloved wife on September 6, 2022, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. He was born December 25, 1931 in Hamlin, a son of the late Remi and Alma (Ringuette) Cyr, and was a graduate of Van Buren Boys' High, Class of 1951.

Raymond was a lifetime parishioner of St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, and he was a 4 ^th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Van Buren. He was also a longtime member of Van Buren's former Lion's Club, a director of the former Gateway Federal Credit Union, and the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce. Raymond was a lifelong farmer and farmed on the family homestead. Later he owned and operated Raymond's Men's Clothing in Van Buren for many years.

He is survived by one son, Troy Cyr of Florida; a grandson, Travis Cyr of New Jersey; five siblings, Clarence Cyr, Richard Cyr, both of Van Buren, Rachel Ouellette of Portland, Lillian Landry and Irma Martin, both of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 70 years, Norma (Labbe) Cyr in 2022, a son, Glenn Cyr in 2018, and five siblings, Adrian and Chanel Cyr, Gertrude Ouellette, Homerine Violette, and Marie Mae Lajoie.

Raymond's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Borderview Rehab and Nursing for their dedicated care and support during the many years of Raymond's and his wife's stay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Main St., Van Buren. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
