Madawaska---Raymond J. Fortin, 70, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born in Lille on February 14, 1940, the son of Joseph and Lucie (Cyr) Fortin. Raymond served his country during the Vietnam War. He is survived by three brothers, Herby Fortin and his wife Mirelle of Madawaska, Angelo Fortin of Walland, TN, and Ronaldo Fortin and his wife Mona of Madawaska; a sister-in-law, Therese Fortin of Madawaska; a brother-in-law, Rene Cormier and his wife Aline of Bristol, CT; several nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by three sisters, Lucille Huard, Germaine Cormier, Bertha Dufour; by three brothers, Claude, Lionel, and Albert Fortin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Thursday, January 13 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC.
