Obituary

Madawaska— Real R. Daigle, 83, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2021 at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born in Madawaska, ME on December 19, 1937. Son of the late Antoine and Catherine Daigle. Real was married for 60 years to the late Velma (Gagnon) Daigle. Real was active in his community, all through his life. He retired from Madawaska Fire Department after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4 th Degree. He worked at Fraser Paper as a pipefitter, where he retired after 42 years. His greatest life accomplishment would have to be raising his family of five children. Real was a family man, the best times of his life were spent at their camp during the summer. Which included water skiing, boating, and playing with his children and grandchildren. Real has a special nickname for all his grandkids, they still all remember their time spent with "Pepere Hot Wheels" at the camp. Real enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and gardening. Real is survived one daughter, Ginette Desjardins and her husband Paul of Madawaska; three sons, Andre Daigle and his wife Yvonne of St. David, Mark Daigle and his wife Sonia of Edmundston, NB, and Jeffrey Daigle of Frenchville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers, Norman, Lionel, Leonide, and John Daigle. Besides his parents, Real was predeceased by his loving wife Velma (Gagnon) Daigle; two sisters, Norma and Cecile; one daughter, Susan. Due to the current pandemic a Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home.
