Obituary

Real J. "Pitou" Lausier went home to God surrounded by his family on December 22, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.  He was born March 11, 1936, raised in Grand Isle, and was a son of the late Thaddie and Mabel (Michaud) Lausier.
He served his country and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.  He married Celine Ouellet and settled in Madawaska where he worked at Fraser Paper as a millwright/vibration analysis.  Together they raised one son and two daughters.  He was known for his love of singing.  He sang in his church choir and for many special events. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight and was a member of the American Legion, Post 147. He volunteered in the community by helping with the Acadian Festival, genealogical research, served on the NorState Federal Credit Union board and at local nursing/assisted living facilities.
He is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Celine (Ouellet) Lausier of Madawaska; a son, Mark Lausier of Yorba Linda, CA; two daughters, Deanne Morrow and her husband Simon III of Madison and Dawn Lausier of Portland; two grandsons, Simon Morrow IV, serving in the US Air Force, and Alex Morrow of Bangor; nine siblings, Sr. Viola Lausier, Rita Pescinski, Sr. Marie May Lausier, Roland Lausier, Edmond Lausier, Cecile St. Jean and her husband Donald, Agathe Moser and her husband Bill, Norman Lausier and his wife Gladys, and Daniel Lausier and his wife Linda; and many nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Real was preceded in death by five brothers, Thaddie "Joseph", Albenie, Emilio "Bud", Laurien "Larry," Urbain, and Elmer Lausier and two nephews, Ross and Ken Lausier
The family would like to thank those who helped in his recent care, including Dr. James Harris, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Beacon Hospice.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. David Catholic Church, St. David. Friends may call Thursday 6 to 8 PM and Friday morning 9-9:45 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, Madawaska. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Edgar J.
