Obituary

Madawaska--- Reginald Richard Bourgoin, 68, of Madawaska passed peacefully with his wife, daughters, and granddaughter by his side on Monday May 23, 2022, at Northern Maine Medical Center after a long illness.

Reginald was born in Frenchville on July 3,1953, to Richard and Jeannette Deschaine Bourgoin. He worked as a Machinist for Fraser Paper now known as Twin Rivers until he went into the Navy and is a Vietnam Veteran. Upon his return home he continued to work at Fraser Paper. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always joking around and making people laugh. He was the kindest man you could ever meet he would give his shirt off his back for anyone. He so loved spending time with his grandsons and especially his granddaughter. In his early years he enjoyed fishing with his eldest daughter at Mimi's Pier and during the winter months he enjoyed ice fishing with his youngest daughter.

Reginald is survived by the love of his life Gail LaChance Bourgoin of 40 years. His children, Shelly Dawn Morin and her partner Ike Gagnon, Jessica Lynn Cyr and her husband Dana Cyr. His grandchildren, Victoria Duplessis (Pupunie), Kole Duplessis and his fiancé Justice Flannery, Alex Gervais, Ethan Gervais and his partner Deserae Cyr, Colby Gervais, and Benjamin Gagnon. His great-grandchildren Hazayl Byram, Harmony Byram, Aliyah Pelletier, Xander Gervais, Maverick Munoz, and several nieces and nephews. His siblings are, Ronald (Jeff) Bourgoin and his wife Mado, Mike Bourgoin and his wife Pat, Shawn Bourgoin and his partner Lisa, Larry Bourgoin, Karen Chessie, John Bourgoin and his partner Mark, Peter Bourgoin, and sister-in-law Nell. Also survived by his father, Richard Bourgoin and his partner Muriel. He is predeceased by his mother, Jeannette Deschaine Bourgoin; his brother, David Bourgoin; brother-in-law, Tom Chessie; sister-in-law, Yvonne Bourgoin. The family wants to thank Northern Maine Medical Center, especially the ICU Nurses/CNA's for taking such good care of him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, 10am at St. David church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at Lajoie Funeral Home the morning of the service from 8:30-9:30am. Reginald will be taking his last motorcycle ride with the American Legion Riders to his final resting place at Veteran Cemetery in Caribou with a 21-gun salute; interment will be at 1pm.
