IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reginald
Hebert
February 12, 1938 – March 5, 2022
St. David – Reginald Hebert, 84, passed away at home surrounded by family on March 5, 2022. Reginald was born in St. David, Maine on February 12, 1938, the son of Emile and Alma (Guerrette) Hebert. Reginald was the beloved husband of Joan (Sirois) Hebert for 63 years, a devoted father, and cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a lifelong communicant of the St. David Parish. Reginald readily shared with pride how he drove the school bus as a sophomore, junior and senior in high school. Soon after high school, he started working at Fraser Paper where he was a dedicated worker for 41 years, retiring in 1998. Additionally, he was co-owner of Hebert Bros. with his brother, Robert, from 1970 until 2015. During his long retirement, he enjoyed truck driving, woodworking, "computing," traveling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and spending time with his grandchildren – telling them stories of l'ancien temps. Reginald appreciated nature and loved to pick fougère in the springtime, never missing a season, and to pick potatoes in the fall. One of his greatest pleasures turned ritual was the four-wheeler ride he took every evening during the warmer months down to the river. He loved to pause on the way to pick and eat choke cherries off the trees by the handful. In the summertime, it was not unusual to see Reginald sitting on the front porch swing with the love of his life, Joan. In his younger years, he participated in bowling leagues. He was also a member of the ATV Club and Snowmobile Club. Basketball remained a passion of his from when he played in high school, to watching his children play, and up until the end he was an avid Celtics fan. Though he enjoyed the simple things in life, he was insightful, and his family appreciated his words of wisdom. His sense of humor will be dearly missed. As a loving family man, Reginald was most proud of his ever-expanding family. At family gatherings, in the midst of all the noise and craziness, he was often observed just sitting back and soaking it all in. His legacy of love, hard work, humor, and honesty lives on through his family. He is survived by his son – Daniel Hebert and his wife, Margot (Madawaska) and their sons, Daryl Hebert and Randy Hebert; children to daughter, Elaine Tetreault (deceased) – Angela Albuquerque, Michelle Broughton and Alex Tetreault; daughter – Lisa Martin and her husband, Raymond (St. David) and their children, Lindsey Lavertu, Kara Martin and Jonathan Martin; son – Steven Hebert and his wife, Helen (Madawaska) and their children, Kristin Albert, Megan Lizotte, Mariah Cyr, Grace Hebert and Michael Hebert; daughter – Janet Gonneville and her husband, John (Madawaska) and their daughters, Leah Gonneville, Hannah Gonneville and Abby Gonneville; daughter – Brenda Davis and her husband, Darrin (Derry, New Hampshire) and their children, Felicia Davis and Daelen Davis; and by 25 great-grandchildren, with many nieces/nephews. He is also survived by his brothers – Romeo and his wife, Vi (Madawaska); Robert and his wife, Jeannine (Madawaska); sister, Roberta LaBrie and her husband, Danny (St. Agatha and Florida); and sisters-in-law, Joan Hebert (Philip) and Georgette Hebert (Norman). He is predeceased by his wife, Joan Hebert (December 23, 2021); brothers, Berthier, Norman and Philip; infant son, Gary; daughter, Elaine Tetreault; and great-granddaughter, Briar Rose Albert. Funeral services in celebration of Reginald's life will be held 10am on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. David Church.
