Madawaska and Fort Kent--- Rejean “Frenchie” Levesque, 73, passed unexpectedly July 4, 2026, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 19, 1953, in Riviere-Bleue, QC, Canada, a son of the late David and Annette (Soucy) Levesque, and attended Fort Kent Community High School.
Frenchie was a jack-of-all-trades and rarely had issues finding work. He was a talented carpenter and operated his own contracting business for a time. He traveled extensively for work and found himself in all areas of New England and New Brunswick. He also worked several years in masonry throughout the St. John Valley. Frenchie loved everything in the woods, and he took full advantage of the fishing and hunting activities around. He enjoyed helping people and had a way to bring a smile to anyone having a bad day.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Tripp of Madawaska; seven siblings, Aline Sirois of Florida, Jacqueline Grondin of Quebec, Noella Ouellet of Quebec, Linda Davis of Connecticut, George Levesque of Florida, Joseph Levesque of St. Agatha, and Paul Levesque of Bangor; one grandson, Joey Levesque; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Frenchie was predeceased by five siblings, Jacques Levesque, Priscille Ouellet, Lucille Levesque, Diane Plourde and Jean-Guy Levesque.
A graveside service will be celebrated at 1 PM on Monday, August 7, 2027 at St. Louis Cemetery, Fort Kent. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, 14 E. Main St., Fort Kent.
