IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rena M.
Bailey
January 5, 1940 – June 23, 2023
Madawaska–Rena M. Bailey passed away June 23, 2023, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor at the age of 83 surrounded by her loving family. She was the 5th child of 9 born to Elie and Marie (Guerrette) Morin.
Rena will be remembered for her love of family. She found pleasure in anticipating and preparing for family get-togethers and celebrations. She was most joyful when being with family for special occasions and events. She welcomed friends and family to her home with a warm and hearty welcome followed by lots of laughter. She was a shining example of good in the world. She was genuinely interested in the goings-on in other people's lives, including relatives, her children's friends and others. She was an advocate for the underdog and always wanted the best for others.
Rena retired after a 20-year career supporting the community's aging population at the Wisdom House in Madawaska. Through this work, she developed relationships with many employees who became lifelong friends. She also developed many meaningful friendships as a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Rena was predeceased by brothers Milford (Gisele), Bertrand "Bert" (Ann), Clifford "Bee" (Eliette), Richard "Dick" (Dean), Leo (Irma), and Elie Jr.
She is survived by her husband Gary, 4 children including Glenn and wife Jane of Sugar Hill, NH, Meline and husband Tim of Scarborough, Loren and wife Anna-Lisa of Greenland, NH and Dale and wife Ellen of Trenton, ME. She is also survived by one sister Nancy Daigle and husband John of Fort Kent, a brother Don Morin (Mertie) of Unionville, CT, numerous nieces and nephews who were dear to her, and grandsons Andrew Bailey, Luke Bailey, Andrew Cousins, and Carson Bailey, who will miss her greatly.
Visiting hours will be 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, June 29 at Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska. There will be no visiting hours the morning of the funeral. A Catholic mass will be held on Friday, June 30 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Madawaska with a graveside service and luncheon to follow.
