Van Buren--- Rena F. Franck, 84, peacefully entered into eternal rest January 9, 2025, following a short illness. She was born November 15, 1940 in St. Leonard, NB, Canada, a daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Morin) Gagnon, and was raised in Van Buren.

Rena last worked in the SAD #24 cafeteria for several years before her retirement. Previously she worked at the former Bella's Bridal Shop, Van Buren, for many years as their top salesclerk. Rena was a lifelong member of the Columbiettes and recently became a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Rena was a crafty greeting card maker and would attend many card parties with her friends. She also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles late into the evening.

She is survived by two brothers, Larry Gagnon and Mike Gagnon, both of Massachusetts; a sister, Georgene McMillian of Van Buren; a special niece, Arlene Beaulieu of Van Buren; her longtime companion, James Cyr of Van Buren; and many nieces and nephews.

Rena was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Donald B. Franck, in 2012, and four brothers, Leonard, Ronald, Donald, and Fernand Gagnon.

Rena's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the nurses and staff of Borderview Rehab and Nursing Home for their support and compassion during Rena's stay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, Main St., Van Buren. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rena's name may be made to: St. Bruno-St. Remi Mercy Meal Fund, 174 Main St., Van Buren, ME 04785. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
