Grand Isle---Renald J. Cote, 73, passed away on August 21, 2014 at his home in Grand isle with his family by his side. He was born in St. David on January 26, 1941, son of the late Lewis H. and Annie (Cyr) Cote. He worked the family farm with his father and brother for many years and then worked at Fraser Paper until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Gerard Church and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, council # 2638 of Madawaska. Nal is survived by his beloved wife of forty eight years, Rose Amy (Michaud) Cote of Grand Isle; one daughter, Kelly Mae Cote of Melbourne Florida; one son, Allen Cote of South Carolina; one grand-daughter, Molly Cote of Madawaska; eight sisters, Rejeanne Touzot, Theresa Brennan, Norma Protting, Marcella Sarnow, Cecile Dobash, Mary Ann Rich, Kathleen Sirois, Carol Whitney; two brothers, Normand Cote and Gerard Cote; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Aurele Cote. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9am until 10:30am on Monday before the service.
