IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Reynold J.
Raymond
December 4, 1948 – January 30, 2022
Eagle Lake---Reynold J Raymond, 73, beloved and devoted husband of Iris (Devoe) Raymond, and patriarch of his family, passed away peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer on January 30, 2022. Born December 4, 1948, he was the eldest son of Aurel and Effie (Belanger) Raymond.
Reynold's passion was his family and his interests had community service at its center. His professional career began with ten years in education as a social science teacher at the Fort Kent High School, he was the Town Manager for the Town of Eagle Lake from 1984-1991 and he retired in 2019, after 28 years as the Chief Executive Officer of Northern Maine General.
Among the many committee and work groups he participated in over the years, he most recently served the Town of Eagle Lake as a School Board member and has been on the Town of Eagle Lake's Budget and Town Forest Committees for well over 30 years. He also served on the Board for Ambulance Services Incorporated (ASI) since 1984 and has been an elected member of the Aroostook County's Finance Committee since 1990.
When Reynold retired in 2019, he announced that he was going to spend his retirement years "dating my wife". Unfortunately, those years were far too short. Reynold is survived by his loving wife of over 49 years; his three children, Michelle Raymond and her partner Wayne Pelletier of Eagle Lake, Lauri Raymond and her partner Darcy Labbe Jr. of Eagle Lake, and Justin and his wife Denise Raymond of Winterville; his adored grandchildren, Samantha, Gracy, Sara, Carter, Lucas, and Alivia; and his siblings, MaryAnn and her husband Eric Scott of Caribou, Roger and his wife Rella Raymond of Florida, Patrick and his wife Cheryl Raymond of Portage, Roland Raymond of Dedham, Rachel and her husband Raymond Albert of Massachusetts, Gerald and his wife Sharon Raymond of Eagle Lake, and Lisa and her husband Eric Nosel of Hermon; his 34 nieces and nephews; and last, but not least, his faithful companion and German shepherd, Trixie.
Reynold was predeceased in death by his parents and his brother Harold Raymond.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 24 th , at 10:00 a.m., at the St Mary's church in Eagle Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Marcoux Fund, c/o Northern Maine General, P.O. Box 310, Eagle Lake, ME 04739, to benefit the residents of Northern Maine General. Reynold was instrumental in creating the fund and your donations will be greatly appreciated.
