Obituary

Van Buren--- Richard J. Ayotte, 54, died unexpectedly Monday, June 22, 2015, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born April 12, 1961 in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, a son of the late Edmund and Joan (Brown) Ayotte. Richard last worked with mulch and wood products with former A&J Industries, Van Buren, for over 20 years. In addition, he enjoyed working with many of the local farms during planting and harvest seasons. Richard was a member and former officer of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree Assembly, Van Buren, since 1997. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing in many of the local fishing holes and cherished trips downstate to try his hand at deep sea fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially doting on his two grandchildren. Richard is survived by: his wife of 31 years, Patty (O'Neal) Ayotte of Van Buren; one daughter, Kimberly Ayotte of Van Buren; two brothers, John Ayotte and David Ayotte and his wife Julie, all of Van Buren; two grandchildren, Dylan and Jameson Huestis; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, June 26, 2015, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday evening 6-8:00 PM and Friday morning 9-10:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
