Obituary

Van Buren --- Richard "Wolf" Levesque, 73, died peacefully December 31, 2020, at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born on Oct. 7, 1947 in Van Buren, a son of the late Alyre Germain Levesque Sr. and Jeanne Sophie Isabelle Violette, and graduated from Van Buren Boys High in 1965.

Living in Van Buren most of his life, he worked in many fields: machinist, fabricator, customer service, taxicab, plumbing, carpentry, mechanic, farming, lumber operation, and millwright. Overall, he loved electrical the best, became an electrician and instructor for the IBEW, and worked the many plants/mills all over Maine. Richard was accomplished at gardening, hunting, fishing, and could often be found cooking. He was a generous individual who loved the great outdoors and was passionate about what nature offered. Fiddleheads, smelts, rabbit, and so on, were just a small sampling of the goods he shared with his family and friends. He was an active and dedicated member of the IBEW and often volunteered with BSA Troop 196 in Van Buren.

Richard is survived by four sisters, Viola Ketch and Germaine Levesque of Auburn, Lou Ann Skidgel of Caribou, Claudia Thibodeau of Van Buren and a brother, Alyre Levesque Jr. of Van Buren, a special cousin, Emile Martin, and many nephews and nieces that he held dear to his heart.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Verna Levesque, Nelson Levesque, and Marie Ange Heartsgrove, and two special cousins, Rose and Theresa Martin.

Richard's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for all of Richard's doctors, nurses, and caregivers, including Caribou Rehab & Nursing and Madigan Estates, for their tireless dedication to his wellbeing. Their compassion truly assisted Richard in enjoying his final years.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of Richard's family, and he will be laid to rest in the family lot in St. Bruno Cemetery, Van Buren. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
