Madawaska---Rinette Rolande Pelletier, 88, passed away on November 20, 2022, at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born in Saint Hilaire, New Brunswick, Canada on May 21, 1934, daughter of the late O'neil and Adeline (Cyr) Levesque. At a very early age, the family moved to Frenchville, where Rinette attended and completed her elementary school. She attended high school at Mount Merci in Waterville. She attended Husson College in Bangor, graduating in 1956. She was an excellent student, graduating with honors. Rinette taught school in the business department at the Madawaska High School. She was involved in teaching shorthand, bookkeeping, typing, and business practice. When the coaches who were also teachers had to leave their classroom for an athletic event, she would often cover their classes. After her teaching career, she opened a Hallmark store called, Acadian Cards. She operated this business for ten years until her retirement. In her younger years, Rinette volunteered countless hours at Ridgewood Estates and at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike of Madawaska; her four children, Jean Ann Pelletier of Highland Ranch, CO, Fran Pelletier of Steamboat Springs, CO, Tom Pelletier and his wife Brenda Voter of Madawaska, Suzanne Pelletier of Van Buren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Thursday before the Mass. Interment will be held at the Caribou Veteran's Cemetery. Contributions in Rinette's memory may be made to the St. John Valley Associates, 291 Newberry St., Madawaska, ME 04756.
