Madawaska---Miss Rita Chasse, 83, passed away at a Madawaska health care facility on June 5, 2013. She was born in Grand Isle on September 2, 1929, daughter of the late Thaddie and Eva (Doucette) Chasse. Rita had spent most of her adult life in Connecticut and California. She returned home to live her last years at Ridgewood Estates. She is survived by three brothers, Dick and his wife Ann of East Hartford, CT, Milford and his companion Lorraine Duff of Hawk Point, MO, John and his wife Bertha of St. David; four sisters, Rena Hardy and her husband Talmadge of Calhoun, GA, Romona Clavette of Wolcott, CT, Loretta Clavette and her husband Lucien of East Hartford, CT, Julia Smith and her husband Clayton of Paplin, VA; one brother-in-law, Lee Rose of Ashford, CT; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Doria Rose; 2 brothers, Clayton and his wife Lorraine, and Raymond and his wife Yvette; a brother-in-law, Herby Clavette; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Chasse. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Friday, June 14 at the St. Thomas Church. Interment will be held immediately following the service in the Parish cemetery.
