Rita A. Gogan, 92, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Baker Lake, New Brunswick, a daughter of the late Josephel and Methaid (Cyr) Soucy. In her younger years, she was the Postmaster in Baker Lake, New Brunswick. Rita was a communicant of St. Thomas Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and planting beautiful roses outside of her home. Most of all she enjoyed playing the card game "45" with her family and close friends. She is survived by five daughters, Patricia Marks and her husband Gary, Nancy Gogan, Joan Bouchard all of Florida, Janet Kolb and her husband Dennis of Wisconsin, Charlene Michaud of Baker Brook, New Brunswick; three sons, James Gogan and his wife Helene, Charles Gogan and his wife Mary Berthe of Madawaska, Robert Gogan and his companion Diane Grivois of Madawaska; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Vienneault and her husband Gerald of Edmundston, Lorraine Martin of Madawaska; two brothers, Normand Soucy and his wife Germaine of Edmundston, Roland Soucy and his wife Denise of Quebec. Rita was predeceased by her husband, Antoine Gogan; two sons, Patrick and Norman; two sisters Berthe and Rolande; four brothers, Harvey, Rene, Lionel, Levite. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 9am until time 10:30am on Monday.
