Madawaska---Rita (Fournier) Lavoie, 91, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2020 at a Madawaska health care facility.  She was born in St. Basile, N.B. Canada, on June 8, 1928, daughter of the late Florent and Sophie (Martin) Fournier.  Rita was a communicant of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church for many years and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne as well as the Daughters of Isabella.  Rita enjoyed being with people, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.  Her eleven grandchildren were dear to her heart and they will forever cherish memories of the sleepovers at Memere's house, learning card games and savoring her special home cooked meals.  Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis Lavoie, on May 26, 1997.  She is survived by her children, Linda Raymond and her husband Richard of New Canada, Louise Ouellette and her husband Alain of Fort Kent, Dennis Lavoie of Madawaska; her grandchildren, Danielle Raymond, Richard Raymond (Andreina), James Raymond (Jessie), Julie Raymond, Jacques Ouellette, Luc Ouellette, Andre Ouellette, Philippe Ouellette, Sophie Ouellette, Isabelle and Geoffrey Lavoie; two great grandchildren, Juliana and Carson.  A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Those who wish may contribute in memory of Rita to the Activity Fund, Ridgewood Estates, 480 Ridgeview Ave., Madawaska, ME 04756.
